Holiday Wreath Are Coming on December 8th

Lefferts Manor Association Holiday Wreaths

The Lefferts Manor Association is planning our annual holiday wreath project for Saturday, December 8th. Households who are paid members for 2012 will receive a fresh fir wreath adorned with a bright red bow.

Volunteers are needed!

Please gather at the driveway of 77 Midwood Street from 10 to 12 on the 8th to help tie bows on the wreaths. Board members are also organizing volunteers on each block to help deliver the wreaths on their blocks.There are lots of ways to help and make our neighborhood look even more beautiful for the winter holidays. Halloween Safe Path Walk

This year’s Halloween Safe Path Walk will start at 5pm on Wednesday October 31st at the corner of Flatbush and Rutland Road.

Children Must Be Accompanied By An Adult

Route: Proceed on Rutland Road to Rogers Avenue. Turn left on Rogers Avenue to Midwood Street. Proceed on Midwood Street to Bedford Avenue, then turn Right to Maple Street. Proceed on Maple Street to New York Avenue. Turn Left on New York Avenue to Empire Blvd. Finish at the 71st Precinct Station House.

Free Fall Planting Workshop

Dear Neighbors, you are invited to a community get together with Landscape Architect Sasha Newman-Ladjen.

My garden is a work in progress and maybe yours is too. I’ve asked Little Miracle Designs to lead a workshop on planting techniques, preparing your garden for winter, new design trends, and ecological best practices for a beautiful garden.

  • The meeting will be addressed by a representative from the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office.
  • Learn about the status of tellecommunications (including FIOS) in our neighborhood from a Verizon rep.
  • Meet our elected officials,
  • Take the opportunity to ask questions and express concerns to the officers of the 71st Precinct.

It is full of great stories, such as Lefferts Manor’s winner in this summer’s “Greenest Block in Brooklyn” contest. There are articles on Manor residents, and a schdeule of LMA Fall events.
