Carole Schaffer,
Empress of PLG’s House & Garden Tour,
Dies at 73

Carole Schaffer, who fastidiously orchestrated the annual Prospect Lefferts Gardens House & Garden Tour for many years, has died.
Carole died of heart failure after eight days under care in a hospital.
A retired registered dietician and nutritionist and longtime Lefferts Manor Association board member, Carole lived with her husband, Arthur, in an exquisitely restored Midwood I brownstone for  years. A memorial service is set for Sunday, October  at  a.m. at the Green-Wood Cemetery Chapel at  St. and Fifth Avenue.
